Black History Month

Well I didn't really do anything for black history month (gasps and boos) because I've learned alot about it the pat years, I've learned about so many great african americans I can't remeber them all. But on you tube I found this awesome video of my favorite singer Denyce Graves and on Millsberry they're having a black history month exihbition!

Tomorrows march but learning about my fellow black people is an anyday thing for me.

Book Review on Persepolis 1- 2
This book is about Marjane Sastrapi's young and older life growing up in Iran and France, these books not only have humor but drama, and other stuff plus interesting facts on the Iranian war. Rating: 10 out of 5 stars

Another series of books about someone's younger life are No David which is next time.

I'm really looking forward to this summer like something awesome's going to happen, it's a really weird feeling and I can't figure out why I think this year will be special..? But in other news I finally finished my schedule for my publishing stuff. I made melonie new star earrings, here's a pic, isn't she cute?!

Couldn't Think of a Title

I was visiting my sister's blog, it's for invited bloggers which is really cool (its cool if you're invited of course)! But anyway she was talking about summer which reminds me I haven't really put anything on my list for this summer, which is best to do early or you'll spend your summer making the list like I did 2 years ago. But anyway one thing on my list is go to the American Girl Place.

Thinking of allowance I don't really need one since I have future things I'll be doing which I think we'll be enough, along with the fact I get birthday money and the school contests we have ( they pop up randomly, but often enough for me ). But when you think about it getting money every week(or month) is kind awesome, I used to until I started slacking in my kitchen cleaning so sad. I think I will join Cookies& Cream in a venture to get an allowance, what an adventure it shall be!
I was looking in the encyclopedia the other day and they discontinued alot of cool dollar bills like 5,000 or something and some other ones with cool presidents. The Sunday Morning was also talking about money which fed my interest that week. I like having money, one day besides collecting dolls and some other stuff I want to collect those cool coins and things. I like that kind of stuff, I'll collect coins from all around the world too.

Doll Clothes R Here

Yesterday both my shoes and outfit came in the mail! It fits Melonie perfectly, I also checked out American Girl's new outfits and accessorie for this summer, here is the outfit and bike I want to get, then here are the sweet silk pink pjs that come with the satin robe!! I also want this hawiaan one that has a swiming suit and cute gutair! I like the surfboard but I don't really want it so I didn't post a picture of it, so you can check it out at AmericanGirl.com.

Happy Febuary

Here's the latest magazine I've gotten, I have the subscription until the fall 8(. I love the new button jewelry that's in it, I might buy some buttons this summer or spring and do it in my spare time. I've notice I haven't put any short stories on here yet so I will try first of march or late febuary when I bring my Lacie with me (it's sorta like a portable information box thingy). Melonie Dressings

This month I made my doll two pairs of earrings and they're sooo cute! When I get her more outfits her earring line will grow along too. Since I like handmade stuff just as much as buying, I'm going to get some patterns and stuff hopefully this summer to make for Melonie. I'm still trying to figure out how to make her a newsgirl hat, but no luck yet, just buy-ables found so far. Ever since I got Melonie she's really come to have her own personality ( which is sort of weird ) just like my other doll Pippi Boo, who looks like a baby version of Melonie. I'll post a picture of the two next week.

New Bratz Dolls

Bratz Vs. Barbie Debate

Book Reviews

#1- American Girl Doll Hair Book
This book comes with good ideas for hair do's and the one I got came with mini hair clips and decor along with a brush, but... This book this book wasn't as helpful as I thought it would be, because when I really think about it I could've thought of all the hairstyles myself (just needed some memory refreshing). The worst part was alot of the hair styles weren't capable with my curly haired AG doll. But if you don't know how to braid and you're still learning, or you have a straight haired doll this book would be very helpful to you, otherwise I wouldn't even consider it.

American Girl Products Remade: Hair Style Center Under $39.95

Store: The Dollar Tree, Rite Aid, Family Dollar

Gather:
Jaw Clamp
Pack of Six Rollers
Pack of 24-36 scrunchies (or buy some seperately and get various pairs, which is more money but more creative and under the $39.95 budget)
Hotsie Totsie (Conair Makes These Products) - Pins, clips
A Brush, Picks or Combs
Shoe Box, Clear Storage Container with Sections, The Hand made Style Center as Follows
Instructions
1. Now that you have all your hair decor (don't worry about getting it all now, it's more fun to collect as the slow months go by), you'll have to find a nice container or station for it all. What I did was take a large flat box (which has all my un-needed junk and papers in it, multi-uses!?) and put a pretty pillow case or cloth on it.
2. Put your combs, brushes and rollers in a round jar with stickers/decor on it, or hang combs on tacks if they have holes in the tops.
3. Take a flat open box (maybe even an egg carton, leave top on with a super safe lock if there's a baby sib around) and put your small accessories and scrunchies in there. Don't forget to decorate because no one wants to look at a hair box that says Grade A eggs on it (unless that's your style of course). Your jaw clamps can hang anywhere from your comb jar to your accessory box, or just on the big box.
4. For Finishing touches add a mirror, your choice of size, maybe an AG magazine human or doll sized, maybe even a water spray, and trash can for hair leftovers. A picture frame of your doll adds style to it also. I use both ways, and here's how my pt 1 doll center looks (using the AG pen pal kit, empty from use).
This should be a very inexpensive way to have a doll hair salon, or for your personal use, (I'd bet it'd look even better on a vanity too), and I hope you enjoy yourself and keep being AG Creative, or whatever creative you are, don't let the flashy companies hold you back (especially if they're expensive).

New Stories

This month I'm working hard on writing my 60's Team stories so I can at least get them published this year. I'm also working on holidays with hailey and some other stories, along with some drawing and I'll be doll clothes shopping this month! Can't wait! Ciko
